How much does it cost to hire a plant?

Builders and construction companies hire mobile mechanical equipment to perform various construction tasks, such as digging, dumping, transporting, etc. The cost of hiring a piece of mobile mechanical equipment or a plant varies based on the size and type.

Let’s look at some examples of the average costs of hiring various types of plants:

  •         Dumper hires cost between £100 and £150 per day or up to £240 per week. One-ton dumpers would be the cheapest, while nine-ton dumpers would be the most expensive.
  •         Tracked dumpers hires are between £90 and £156 per day or £130 to £240 per week.
  •         Tracked excavator hires are between £85 and £285 per day or £165 to £500 per week.
  •         Midi excavator hires are between £90 and £275 per day or £310 to £450 per week.
  •         Mini excavator hires are between £95 and £250 per day or £300 to £420 per week.
  •         Roller hires are between £30 and £96 per day or £70 to £160 per week.
  •         Telescopic handler hires are around £140 per day or £280 per week.

Think about the size and weight capacity needed for your particular construction job. Once you have this information, you can make a suitable plant hiring choice. Of course, your budget is another factor for consideration too. But the good news is the price rate per week is often much cheaper than the price rate per day. So if you have a long-term construction project lasting longer than a week, you can save a lot of money by hiring a plant on a weekly basis.
